Description
Western Suburbs Cricket Club are seeking a head coach for the 2025/26 cricket season. The club is based at College Park in Nedlands, and is the largest senior cricket club in Perth, boasting 9 men’s Saturday teams, 4 men’s T20 teams, 3 veteran’s teams and a woman’s team. Western Suburbs has a “whole of club” mentality and an excellent culture with a good mix of moderately serious and fun cricket.
The head coach role is a 2-3 day a week job. It will involve being at training on a Tuesday night, from 4:50 to 7pm and at training and selections from 4:50-7:45pm on a Thursday night and will begin in July/August with the start of pre-season training. The role will also include watching matches on a Saturday, either in person or following online.
Responsibilities
The Head Coach is responsible for the overseeing of training, including but not limited to:
· Facilitating both nets and fielding training
· General coaching advice for all players in all aspects of the game
· Overseeing team selections, providing input and feedback to the captains
Who we’re looking for
The successful applicant could be anyone with cricket experience, ideally someone who has retired from playing and is looking to stay involved with the game, especially at a club with such a strong culture. We are also open to a discussion with current players.
